Janine Gruna and Lula

Janine and Lula, an 8lb Pomeranian joined PHP in 2005 as a therapy team and both are very active in our organization.  Janine shares that Lula was inherited as a 3 yr old with “pomitude” (unruly but smart) from her mother-in-law and as a tribute to her, Janine researched pet therapy.  Once becoming a working dog Lula lost her “Pomitude” and it quickly became evident that Lula loves to cuddle in laps and has a special temperament for children, seniors and people with disabilities.  Janine and Lula’s schedule is often quite busy.  They visit Curative Adult Day Services, private clients, Waggin Tails events, special presentations and they also sub at New Berlin Children’s Library Read-to-Rover Program following being a regular there for 6 years.  Janine is an active member of the Board of Directors and handles the bookkeeping of the organization.

“There is a moment of grace when Lula and I can touch the heart of someone who is lonely, sick or marginalized.
